Kintamani Village
Discover Kintamani Village Bali, a captivating tourist destination offering breathtaking views of the majestic Mount Batur Volcano and serene Lake Batur from the famous viewpoint at Penelokan.
Perched 1500 meters above sea level, Kintamani Village boasts a cool, damp climate ideal for cultivating oranges and passion fruit. Every third day, its main street transforms into a vibrant market, bustling with vendors, some traveling great distances by horseback to sell their wares. Kintamani is renowned as a unique and stunning mountain tourism destination, offering crisp, cool air during the day and chilly evenings. This enchanting area, located in Batur Village, Kintamani District, Bangli, provides a strategic viewpoint called Penelokan, meaning 'the place to look' in Balinese, for unparalleled vistas of Mount Batur and Lake Batur. The dramatic landscape centers around the volcanic caldera of ancient Mount Batur, featuring a deep crater lake—Bali's largest—and natural bubbling hot springs.
Experience the stunning natural scenery of Penelokan, where the majestic Mount Batur and its expansive black rock landscape merge with the serene blue caldera of Lake Batur, often hailed by tourists as the world's most beautiful caldera. The growing popularity of Penelokan has led to the development of excellent infrastructure, including lodging and restaurants. Kintamani is also home to ancient civilizations, such as Terunyan Village, accessible by crossing the lake from Kedisan, where unique ancient Balinese customs endure. The fresh mountain air, combined with spectacular views, makes Kintamani perfect for cycling or trekking. The village is also home to several significant temples, including Pura Batur Kintamani, situated on the rim of the crater, further enhancing the area's breathtaking natural beauty and cultural richness. Historical inscriptions dating back to 911 AD highlight the ancient significance of Mount Batur as a sacred site, frequently visited by pilgrims and priests throughout centuries.
