Kerta Gosa Ancient Justice Court Palace

Kerta Gosa is first site we will visit during Bali Besakih and Penglipuran Tour, The Kerta Gosa Pavilion is a Balinese architectural building located at Klungkung Palace, Klungkung Regency, Bali, Indonesia. The Kertha Gosa Pavilion was built in the early 18th century by Dewa Agung Gusti Sideman. The Besakih Temple complex consists of 1 central temple and 18 accompanying temples. Besakih Temple was built in 1284 by Rsi Markandeya who was a Hindu religious leader of Indian descent. Rsi Markandeya built Besakih Temple because he heard supernatural sounds while meditating on the Dieng Plateau. The name Besakih is taken from Sanskrit, wasuki or in Old Javanese basuki which means safe. Besakih Temple is a tourist destination full of historical significance from religion and culture which was developed a long time ago and still stands and is used for the main purpose, namely religious ceremonies.

Kehen Temple

Kehen Temple is third site we will visit during Bali Besakih and Penglipuran Tour, is a Hindu temple located in Cempaga Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency, Bali, Indonesia, about 45 km from the center of Denpasar City. This temple is located at an altitude of 483 meters above sea level, precisely at the southern foot of Bangli Hill. Because it is located at a height, this temple has a very charming view. Pura Hyang Api where kehen in Balinese means fire. If studied etymologically, in subsequent developments, the name Hyang Api contained in the first inscription became Hyang Kehen in the third inscription and then became Kehen Temple today, then this means that Kehen Temple existed in the Saka years between 804 - 836 (between 882 - 914 AD). The unique thing is that it uses Candi Kurung in front, while Candi Bentar is in the middle.
